Dawn Beckons

Our story opens back up. It's been a few years and Sam and Triss are still at it. Delivering packages, and staving off ruffians. Sam has finally acquired a sky vessel and and our heroes journey to a cliffside village to deliver a package to an old mage. Little do they know the adventure that awaits them...

A Peaceful Town

|
The small village was respite for Sam and Triss. It reminded them of peaceful times. Sam recollected their evening on the sand skiff so many years ago, and a smile graced his lips. "What's up?" inquired Triss? "Oh. It's nothing" said Sam, hiding his smirk from her eyes "Let's find out way around. I think I see the mage's shop up ahead"

Potions and Pleasantries

The Mage's Shop had all sorts of strange vials and potions. Sam and Triss looked around the shop with wide eyes, entranced by the wizardry around them. The mage came out behind the curtain and greeted them. "Hello my lady! I believe you have something for me?" he said, gesturing to her box. "Yes! It's quite small, I'm not sure what could be in here..."
The Mage opened it and presented the contents. A gem resplendent in color and looking to be of much value.
"I have something to ask of you" the mage asked. "If you are willing, could you accompany my apprentice in taking this a little further? I'll pay you quite well" Sam, intrigued by this, inquired further. "Where to?"
"The Sky Shrine" said the Mage.
"There is much magical power that resides within, and as part of her training I'm having her take this gem to the inner sanctum as I did so many years ago"
"We accept" Said Sam and Triss.
"Excellent!" the Mage exclaimed. "Lucy! come here! I've found you some bodyguards!"

Lucy's Theme

|
An excited patter of feet down the stairs, followed by a huge crash of items off the shelf and Lucy had made her appearance. She brought herself right up, and scrambled to pick up everything she dropped. Rushing right over to Sam and Triss, She Tightly grasped their hands, shaking up and down excitedly. "Thank you! I'm Lucy! I'm so excited to meet you!"
Sam remarked back "Nice to meet you too, Lucy. But can I please have my hand back before you rip it off??"
"Oh I'm SO sorry!" she immediately let go and apologized.
The group gathered their things and set off for the Sky Keep

Sky Keep

|
The group had made it to the Sky Keep. It seemed much had changed since the old mage's time. Monsters now roamed the inner walls and soon the group found themselves in trouble. However, with Sam's skills they were able to fend off the fiends that roamed the halls. After progressing further in, they had reached the room right before the inner sanctum. All seemed well, but a horrible growl, and sickening stench emanated from the ceiling......

Sam's Fight Theme

The horrible beast descended from the ceiling, and revealed it's face. dripping with a corrosive substance if lurched forward towards the party. Sam drew his sword, and attempted fight against it. Lucy, being inspired by Sam's bravery pulled a tome from her bag. "I'm not much for destructive magic, but I think there's a fire spell in here somewhere. Hang on, Sam!"
The creature's rotting and abrasive hide was wearing Sam's sword away, and he didn't have much time left. It seemed the more he cut it, the more of the acid corroded.
Lucy let out a chant, and suddenly the room was ablaze! A twisting path of fire (almost serpent-like) traced from Lucy's tome straight into the Monster's head!
It was fully engulfed and burned to ash in an instant.
Sam was amazed. "I thought you said you weren't skilled in this type of magic"
"Whoops" remarked Lucy. "Flipped a couple pages ahead *heh heh*... not a big deal"
Sam and Triss didn't realize at the time, but if Lucy had done the spell improperly they would have ALL been ash right now.

Wolf's Theme

|
The group approached the inner sanctum and went inside. There on the pillar before them was a gold amulet with a divot in the middle where a gem might fit. "I think this is where our package ends up" said Triss, anxious to leave the Keep.
Just as Lucy was about to step forward, and put the gem in, Sam heard a click. almost as if a sword had been drawn. A figure stepped out from the shadows. A man with ashen hair, tall, a long cloak, scarred hands, and on his face a mask with the visage of a Wolf.
Sam felt uneasy. "Who are you? We don't want trouble"
The Man replied. "They call me Wolf, boy" "I'm a treasure hunter of sorts. And I have to thank you for getting rid of that Rot-walker"
"Been trying to take him down for weeks but my swords kept degrading"
"Now if you don't mind, I'll be taking that gem and that amulet"
The air was tense. Sam was tired from the previous battle, but he drew his sword all the same. "I'm afraid we can't do that"
"What a Shame, I didn't want to follow in Arpeggio's footsteps, but you leave me no choice" Said Wolf.

Now or Never

|
Wolf drew his swords and the two engaged in battle. Wolf was far more skilled than Sam in swordplay and he was soon covered in blood from several cuts inflicted on Sam. "Just give me the amulet, and I'll let you go!"
Sam's mind wandered amidst the fighting, but he knew he couldn't give up. Not while Triss was in danger.
Lucy, scared out of her mind, ran to the the altar and grabbed the amulet. She jammed the gem inside and suddenly Rays shot from the prism within. the room was soon enveloped in a strange light and Lucy's spell tome seemed to levitate towards her. A quick flash, and everything went dark.

Deluge

Sam, blinded, Called out. "Triss! Lucy! where are you? But no answer echoed back. Eyesight returned, and Sam looked. A shadow loomed over him. It was a whale! Sam got his bearings and realized he was in a completely different location. Deep underneath the Sea there were several glass tunnels leading to the heart of the city of Rainworth. Sam didn't realize how he got there but figured it had something to do with Lucy's tome and the amulet. However, it seemed that Sam wasn't the only one transported. Wolf came to his senses and overcome with frustration, set to chase after Sam
They Fought and ran, Deeper and deeper they went further and further down the tunnels. Sam passed to the next partition and locked it, blocking Wolf.
"I'm sure that's not the last I'm gonna see of him. Seems he's got a grudge now"

Rainworth

|
Sam had made it to Rainworth and set to find if Lucy and Triss had made it safely. He tried to ask the citizens, but the language barrier was proving to be difficult. And after looking for hours, Sam had to stop. He thought to himself "I wonder if it was only Wolf and Myself that were transported?" "Wherever Triss and Lucy are I can only pray they're safe" Sam was worried, and for the first time in his life felt he had something to lose.

Will Sam find his way back to Triss and Lucy? And What of this mysterious treasure hunter, Wolf? Only time will tell, But for now all we can do is wait...
